ANNE SWEAZY-KULJU is a B&B Innkeeper-turned-author, courtesy of one spectacular car crash and the thirteen resulting spine-fix surgeries that followed. Anne came out the other side with a nickname from her doctors (“Jenga”), heightened psychic abilities (still mediocre, although she can probably tell you if you’re getting a Black Jack for your next hand) and a commitment to penning tight, fun reads.

Anne is currently the author of three historical fiction novels with a fourth in completion. Her debut novel, “The Thing With Feathers,” is a noir saga in historical fiction that garnered a ReadersFavorite 5-Star Medallion. The Innkeeper-turned-writer’s second novel, “BODIE“, was awarded a silver medal for Original Softcover Fiction at The WILLA Literary Awards in 2014. Her latest release, “Grog Wars,” took 1st Place in the international writing competition held by, in March 2013, earned the silver medal from Literary Classics International Book Awards in 2015, and is a 2016 Chanticleer Reviews International Book Awards Finalist for “Best in Category” (The Dante Rossetti Award for the Young Adult genre).

Grog Wars, Dos, the stand-alone second book in the Grog Wars series, was completed in September, just in time for Kulju to enter the raw manuscript in the 2016 Publishers Weekly BookLife Prize for Fiction. Anne is excited to report her novel is a Finalist! The story showcases the monarchy of Maximilian and Charlotte, two of the most unfortunate characters ever snubbed by history, and the young man faced with the dilemma of saving them. *This book is looking for representation.

Bayless, a novella of about 35,000 words, was written in 27 days on a dare for the 2016 Na-No-Wri-Mo challenge. It is a cowboy/footrace story inspired by true events in the life of James Bayless, the great-grandfather of my friend, Dick Bayless:

“If the fastest man in the West hopes to win the girl of his dreams, he’ll have to run the race of his life.”
